A charming vocal & instrumental collection of the foreign influenced music of the genteel Ireland in the 17th & 18th centuries. Pipes, whistles, fiddles & flute accompany the delightfully music-box like harpsichordal tones.

Some of this 'Music of the Nobles' can claim a foreign ancestry, and an ancient one at that. Track 6, for instance, is clearly related to the old French 'Estampe' and although it dislplays a certain modernity, derived from continous oral tradition, its medieval origins are plainly visible.
